Sierra Leone has officially hosted the ICIC–IDUAI 2026 Conference, bringing together Information Commissioners, media professionals, policymakers and other stakeholders from across the world to discuss the future of access to information in the digital age.
The three-day international conference is being held at the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre in Lungi under the theme: “Upholding Information Integrity in the Digital Age: The Role of Access to Information in Addressing Information Disorder.”
The gathering provides a global platform for discussions on access to information, transparency, accountability and the growing challenges posed by misinformation, disinformation and other forms of information disorder in the digital era.
The conference also highlights the importance of strong access-to-information systems and responsible information management in strengthening public trust and promoting informed societies.
For Sierra Leone, hosting the international gathering represents a significant moment as the country welcomes participants from around the world to engage on issues shaping the global information landscape.
