The All People’s Congress (APC) has relocated the re-run election for Constituency 044 in Kabala, Koinadugudistrict, to its Bombali Regional Office in Makeni.
The election is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, following an earlier dispute that reportedly resulted in a confrontation between delegates and supporters of the two camps.
According to the APC National Secretariat, the decision followed consultations with the Independent Elections Management Committee (IEMC), which proposed Makeni as a venue where the election could be conducted in a secure, orderly and peaceful environment.
The Secretariat said the IEMC also consulted the contestants and other stakeholders directly involved in the process, with the parties agreeing to proceed with the re-run in Makeni.
The APC has urged all aspirants, delegates, officials and stakeholders to assemble at the designated venue and cooperate with the IEMC and security personnel. The party has also called on candidates and supporters to exercise restraint and avoid violence, intimidation, threats or any form of disruption.
The re-run is expected to resolve the outstanding Constituency 044 election, following the earlier disruption and concerns over alleged over-voting.
