President Julius Maada Bio and former President Ernest Bai Koroma are expected to address the nation at the National Unity and Social Cohesion Conference scheduled for today, October 26–27, 2026.
The conference, organised by the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC), is expected to bring together key stakeholders to discuss issues affecting peace, stability and national unity in Sierra Leone.
Speaking ahead of the event, Adikalie Kamara, the Commission’s Director of Conflict Resolution and Management, outlined the planned proceedings and highlighted key activities expected during the two-day conference.
The gathering aims to promote dialogue, strengthen peacebuilding efforts and encourage practical approaches to conflict prevention and resolution across the country.
The conference comes as national stakeholders continue to emphasise the importance of sustained engagement, trust-building and social cohesion in safeguarding Sierra Leone’s peace and stability.
