He said it is barely two months to the end of 2017 and yet nothing serious is happening in pitches across the country.

“What has become of a sport that over 80% of people use to be highly interest in?” Tamba Kargbo a young footballer asked rhetorically, adding that it seems all is over for football in Sierra Leone as the sport is being subjected to reckless torture in the hands of officials responsible to do the right thing.

It can be recalled that the country’s football was booming during the 80s and late 90s but that glamour and excitement has not been seen for the past four years now.

Many football loving fans were thinking that the coming of the football world’s governing body FIFA to Sierra Leone would resolve the ongoing impasses that have been derailing the development of the sport but unfortunately, all hopes were badly disappointed as there has been an acute increase in the unexplained fracas between football officials all across the country more than ever before.

Latest development have it that recent statement issued out by Musa Bility of FIFA has prompted Sierra Leone’s Minister of Sports, Ahmed Khanou to instruct the President of SLFA, Isha Johansen to step aside and allow her vice president 1, Brima Mazola Kamara to take over the affairs of the FA.

According to him, Madam Johansen and others are currently answering to indictment charges from the country’s Anti Corruptions Commission and to prevent them from interfering with the investigations it is very much important for them to step aside.
