Under her reign, I.J. played a key role in the formation of the All Political Parties Women’s Association (APPWA) which she headed for two consecutive successful terms thereby flying the One Country, One People flag high.
Politicians have been leaving the SLPP for other political parties but the exit of Isatu Jabbie Kabbah has greatly affected the SLPP women’s mobilization drive for the 2018 elections.
Many believed that with I.J. presence in the SLPP 2018 campaigns team, the party would have gotten an easy ride especially in increasing female support for Retired Brigadier Maada Bio and team.
On the other hand, members and supporters of NGC are current celebrating the decision of I.J. Kabbah to join their party. Since she made her coming into the NGC public during the welcoming street show of Alhaji Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella from his international tour past week, tensions are said to have arose within the leadership, hierarchy and support base of the SLPP as thousands of I.J’s loyalists have threatened to follow her to the NGC within the coming days.
