Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Li Xiaoyong has paid a courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, at the Police Headquarters situated at George Street in Freetown.

Mr. Li briefed the Inspector General on the latest development of cooperation between China and Sierra Leone. The Charge d’Affaires Xiaoyong, appreciated the Sierra Police (SLP) for their contribution in safeguarding peace and security in Sierra Leone. Mr. Li furthered that the Embassy and the Chinese community will strengthen cooperation with the SLP.

In his response, IG Fayia Sellu pointed out that Sierra Leone and China are time-honoured friends and SLP treasures this relationship. He stressed that SLP will continue to consolidate the law-enforcement and capacity-building cooperation with China. He ended by assuring the Charge d’Affaires of the SLP’s commitment to foster peace and tranquillity while thanking the Government and people of China for their support to the people of Sierra Leone so far.
