Captain Kokan Ends Direct Service in Sierra Leone

Country Manager for Bollore Transport and Logistics Sierra Leone, Captain Fabjanko Kokan over the weekend announcedhis end of direct service in Sierra Leone and transfer to head Bolloré Transport and Logistics Guinea to continue his tremendous and selfless service to the global company.

The Captain’s departure came as a shock to many Sierra Leoneans, especially management and staff of Freetown Terminal Limited, Sierra Leone Ports Authority, National Commission for Privatization, National Revenue Authority, Shipping and Clearing Agencies and the media among others.

“I’m going to leave Sierra Leone but I am not going far away from you. I will be on next door Guinea directly supervising all Bollore activities in Sierra Leone,” Captain Kokan stated while addressing newsmen over the weekend.

With Captain Kokan at the head, Freetown Terminal contributed directly a total of $140.4 million into Sierra Leone’s fund basket – the National Revenue Authority $73.5 million, the National Commission for Privatization/Sierra Leone Port Authority $65.3 million and the National Social Security and Insurance Trust- NASSIT $1.6 million respectively.

Bollore invested $156 million in Sierra Leone (including extension), employed directly 322 workers (98.8% local staff), 27, 057 indirect employment, 5,954 induced employments.

Captain Kokan will anytime soon depart Sierra Leone to head Bolloré Transport & Logistics Guinea which was established in 1986 with its headquarter located in Conakry.

The company operates in the major Port of Conakry offeringmultimodal logistics services with a broad range of capabilities and experienced staff to handle general cargo or project cargo with specific expertise in a number of vertical sectors such as Mining, Aerospace, Aid & Relief, FMCG, Industrial Projects, Automotive, and Telecommunications.

Captain Kokan will be replaced in Sierra Leone by the current General Manager of Freetown TerminalLimited, Bertrand Kerguelen.
