The boy, Carlos Francis Barber Jr swallowed a plastic straw that needs to be taken out of his system urgently if he is to survive.

According to Anthony Navo Jr, when he saw the video on social media he was distressed and decided to help facilitate the boy to be flown out of the country to India for surgery. The Amb. said Carlos is fortunate to be the first beneficiary of the fund for children in health emergencies, while promising that the AYV Charity Foundation will be more visible in identifying children in emergencies. He thanked the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for answering the call of humanity in providing the necessary funding and support needed for Carlos to be flown out as soon as possible.

The Amb. has been very consistent in helping society, especially the youth.

The father of the 7yr old Carlos, Carlos Barber Snr said he has seen the great contributions of the AYV to Sierra Leone especially in youth empowerment issues. He said when he received the call from AYV, he was shocked that a media house like AYV would be interested in such humanity call.

He said he was given hope by the Amb that everything will be fine with his son. He expressed profound gratitude to AYV for the move, while praying that God continues to bless and guide Amb. Anthony Navo Jr. According to him, Sierra Leone needs more “Navos” for it to be redeemed.
