The theme for this celebration is “A moment to disconnect All Networks of Violence and indiscipline- A celebration of youthful era in Sierra Leone”.

The conference which was held at the party’s Headquarter Old Railway Line Brookfield’s in Freetown brought together government officials from the Ministry’s of Information, Youth Affairs and also the Media.

 This event is celebrated every year  by young people of the party to raise  awareness on the political challenges young people faced during the  struggle of the All People Congress Party.

Delivering the Key note address The National Secretary General of the APC party Ambassador Foday Osman Yansaneh, said the development of the APC party was witnessed with political trials but as a party they were able to surpass those challenges in order to meet its democratic responsibilities.

 He mentioned that the engagement of young people in governance is essential in achieving sustainable human development reiterating that the APC youth league is fully aware of the transformation that is currently happening  among young people which he said essential they   in driving the country forward towards equitable social progress and economic growth.

 Bai Mamoud proposed Minister of Young Affairs said the APC party appreciates the effort of President Koroma in engaging young people in governance as they are agents of change citing the role they play in the fight against the Ebola epidemic.

 

He also commended the President for complying to his promise made during the 2012 elections that he will dedicate his second term to the youths of Sierra Leone  and also give the chance to  participates in decision making and appeal to young people to desist from all forms of violence as it has  the tendencies to destroy gains  Sierra Leone has made over the years.
