Former President Ernest Bai Koroma and former Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh scooped over Le3 billion, whilst former ministers would smile with Le18 million leones in their bank accounts.

This comes in the aftermath of the APC government’s failure to pay end of service benefits and other payments to former SLPP ministers who served under the late Ahmad Tejan Kabbah government.

The APC government itself in the budget speech of December 2017 did not make any provision for payment to their appointees who were serving at the time. But the government of President Bio has reversed their ill luck by catering for them and making a fifty percent payment to former APC ministers.

Many have hailed the move by the present government as timely and a demonstration of peace. Many APC ministers had started languishing and were desperate for their end of service benefits to be paid in order to meet their growing needs.

According to one of them, who spoke under anonymity “President Bio has shown he is a kind hearted man who does not bear grudge for anyone. I am very grateful to him for this show of magnanimity.”
