March 2024 marks Five Years of World Class Multimedia Partnership between the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire in Sierra Leone and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
The AYV on March, 22nd 2019 announced a new partnership with the BBC, the world service programme in London. This was the first AYV partnership with a global broadcaster in Sierra Leone.
Founder and CEO of AYV, Amb. Anthony Navo Jr. said:
“It has been five years of productive partnership with the BBC and it has been a historic moment for both organisations. The Partnership has harnessed our global reach and broadcasting capabilities to bring our audiences good content. We are looking forward to more productive years to come.”
The BBC has been producing programmes that have been aired on AYV, a new series of innovative and amazing programmes. The Partnership has delivered seven key programmes: Africa Eye, Sport Today, Focus on Africa, World Hacks, The Compass, Crowd Science, Health Check and BBC minutes (Pidgin). Soon, AYV will start to air a new BBC programme called People Fixing the World.
Over the years, the BBC World Service has been providing AYV current news and content that complement its global programmes in Africa and the partnership continue to offer AYV a world-class broadcasting platform for its audiences, with the BBC has supported the development of new programmes and training for AYV.
