Bar Association elections fight is between SLPP and APC

Executive Director of the Institute of Governance Reform (IGR), Andrew Lavalie has said the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLAB) Elections fight is between the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) Party.

He was speaking on AYV’s most popular morning show, Wake Up Sierra Leone where has said for him, the fight is between Serry Kamal and Bubakeh Jabbie.

The Bar held its Annual General Meeting in Kenema past weekend and Tuma Adama Gento Jabbi was elected as the new President.

She garnered a significant majority, Jabbi secured 560 votes, defeating her opponents Wara Serry Kamal, who received 23 votes, and Augustine S. Marrah, who obtained 15 votes.

However, the two other presidential candidates in the elections, Augustine S. Marrah and Wara Serry-Kamal have said they do not recognise the Bar Association elections that were held and further called for a fresh Bar elections to be held soonest.
