“Maada Bio is a terrorist! He is always in the habit of using his ‘Paopa Group’ in the party to terrorize peaceful contenders in the flagbearership race, in order to satisfy his over ambitious power”, he stated.
The former flagbearer aspirant disclosed that there is a high level of violence within the party, and that the ‘paopa’ faction is synonymous to violence. He asserted that the continual occurrence of violence in the SLLP happened to be the major factor for his cross-carpeting.
Franklin Joe Rogers said “Bio lacks political agenda For the SLPP. He continues to hold the party to ransom because he thinks he is the only individual that can take the party to governance”.
Rogers said he joined SLPP in 1994 because the part believed in democratic values and was inclusive of regional and tribal balance. According to him he left the party because he had been always attacked by thugs related to Bio and that the values that used to be the bastion of SLPP when he joined the party 23 years ago had been stifled by Bio.
“I am still receiving text messages and calls from the ‘paopa’ thugs. I am therefore, calling on the government to provide me with adequate security that will guaranty the safety of my life”, Joe Rogers lamented. He said he joined the All People’s Congress (APC) because the party stands for development and happens to be the only party that can deliver and salvage the situation of Sierra Leoneans.
The former SLPP flagbearer aspirant pledged to work assiduously for the continual growth of the APC and to help in propagating their political philosophies.
Meanwhile, according to the SLPP Publicity Secretary, Lahai Lawrence Leema submitted that the party is open to every Sierra Leoneans that are legible to vote. He further stated that Franklin Joe Rogers joined the party by his own volition, also he has the legitimate right to leave when he deemed it necessary.
“even though we are concern for people leaving the party but at the same time we looking at the bigger picture; that is trying to conclude the lower level elections and get ready for the next delegate conference” the SLPP Publicity Secretary commented. He reiterated that their major focus at the moment is to prepare the party to win the 2018 elections.
The SLPP Publicity Secretary said the party will look into the activities of Franklin Joe Rogers, particularly reasons that warrant his resignation from the party.
