All People’s Congress (APC) re-elected Member of Parliament for Karene district, Hon. Mohamed Bangura, has said in a leading television show, Wake Up Sierra Leone, on AYV television that he will be in Parliament today to take the Oath of Office.

This is contrary to his Party’s stance to boycott governance for the next 5 years.

The All People’s Congress Party, in a June 30th, 2023 Press Release, declared its non-participation in any level of governance, including the legislature and local councils.

The Party further insisted on a rerun of the elections within six months to be overseen by individuals and institutions who will ensure a fair and transparent process. In today’s parliamentary event, the newly elected members of parliament will take the oath of office and elect a Speaker of the sixth parliament.
