A senior journalist at the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire, Salifu Chernor Kamara left Sierra Leone over the weekend for the United States of America to participate in a Foreign Press Centers International Reporting Tour, “Leaders of Today and Tomorrow: An Exploration of Youth Activism and Empowerment.’’

The US Embassy in Freetown tweeted: “Best wishes to Salifu Chernor Kamara, a senior journalist at the African Young Voices Media Empire, who has been selected by the Embassy to participate in a Foreign Press Centers International Reporting Tour, “Leaders of Today and Tomorrow: An Exploration of Youth Activism and Empowerment.

“Salifu and journalists from 15 other African countries will have the opportunity to report on the official relationship between the United States and African countries and the role young people play in civil society. Salifu and colleague journalists will arrive in Washington, DC, where they will explore the official relationship between the United States and the countries of Africa. They will then travel to Memphis, TN to meet with young leaders and programs supporting the development of young leaders in the fields such as good governance, civic society development, and food insecurity. The tour will end in Missoula, MT where the journalists will see youth activism in fields such as environmental justice, economic prosperity, and public health.”
