Valnora Edwin is the Executive Director CGG; she said one of the key components of the activities of Campaign for Good Governance (CGG) and Trocaire is empowering women in the country. She said the training which they organized, was geared towards educating aspiring female councilors from different political parties to understand the democratic process, campaigning, campaign financing, women’s empowerment, public speaking and engaging the media.  During the training some of the participants raised grave concerns about marginalization and sexual harassment of women in politics. Participants performed “role plays” during the training such as engaging the media, campaign strategies, campaign financing and more. According to CGG, the training will feature other groups in their subsequent sessions.
