After recording a vital 1-0 home victory on Sunday, 29th April 2023 at Trade Centre in Freetown against FC Kallon to win all first three matches in the second leg, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr., Chairman of East End Lions FC has reiterated that one among the Club’s priorities remains to regain the 2022/23 Sierra Leone Premier League title.

Mohamed M. Kamara’s clinical finish in the first half to net his third league goal with Edward Thullah who joined them this second round from Freetown City FC being the provider snatched all three points for East End Lions.

Chairman Anthony Navo Jr. considered the victory as prestigious to the team and the fans “It means a lot for the morale of the team and its fans” he stated.

He indicated that in the quest to ensure the team continues to deliver positive results, he has gifted them a special motivational package for the victory against FC Kallon and a total of NLe50,000 for winning all their last three matches “I gave them a cash of 20 million leones after the match, and a total of 50 million leones for winning the three matches so far as the Chairman Navo match bonus” he revealed.

Chairman Navo remarked that East End Lions’ priorities in the 2022/23 season are to win both the league and the FA Cup that is set to return this April after almost seven years since the last edition in 2016 “We plan to win the Premier League and the FA Cup” he affirmed.

East End Lions has leapfrogged FC Kallon to sit in the 3rd position with 36 points out of twenty matches played, and it is the team that has recorded the thirteen clean sheets in the league conceding only nine goals and will go away to Old Edwardians FC at Parade field next week Sunday their next fixture.

On his Facebook page, Amb. Navo Jr. wrote: “Congratulations East End Lions! As Chairman of this great club, may I send my heartfelt congratulations to the entire squad on the impressive 1-0 victory over FC Kallon in the 2nd round of the Premier League 2023.

“The team’s positive display means that we deserve to win this year’s tournament. I commend the players for their hard work, professionalism and outstanding performance. This win will give great heart to E. E Lions supporters and indeed all those who love our great team. Many thanks to our players, Management, our dedicated fans and supporters. Continue to believe in us – E.E Lions. We are the killers. I wish the team every success as we prepare for our next matches. We will “catch and beat them.” Thank you.”
