Renowned lawyer and All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah, popularly known as Chericoco, has appealed to Chief Justice Komba Kamanda to exercise wisdom and magnanimity in the ongoing constitutional amendment case involving former Attorney-General Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK).
In a statement addressing the controversy surrounding the court proceedings, Bah acknowledged Kamara’s contributions to the nation and called for a balance between upholding the dignity of the judiciary and demonstrating compassion.
“My Lord Chief Justice Komba Kamanda, as the constitutional amendment case unfolds, may wisdom and magnanimity guide us. Former AG Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) has served our nation with distinction. Upholding judicial dignity and extending grace need not be mutually exclusive,” Bah stated.
Bah’s remarks come amid public attention surrounding the proceedings in the constitutional amendment case, which has drawn attention to the relationship between courtroom discipline, respect for judicial authority and the treatment of legal practitioners appearing before the court.
His appeal emphasises that maintaining the authority and dignity of the judiciary can go hand in hand with the exercise of understanding and restraint as the case continues.
