The Office of the Chief Minister has unveiled the Appointment Portal, heralding a new era of transparent and efficient communication between the public and government officials.
“The initiative marks a significant step towards fostering transparent and accessible communication,” a press statement signed by Solomon Jamiru Esq., Press Secretary for the Office of the President states.
The user-friendly Appointment Portal empowers the public to schedule appointments directly with State House staff members, streamlining the communication process and ensuring swift attention to public concerns.
“We aim to provide citizens with a platform where their appointments are addressed promptly and efficiently,” emphasized Jamiru.
The portal boasts a robust approval system, enabling government officials to seamlessly review and confirm appointment requests. Users can also exercise flexibility by placing appointments on hold as needed.
To enhance efficiency, a tracking feature has been incorporated into the portal, allowing both users and staff members to monitor and manage their weekly appointments. This ensures a well-organized and structured approach to meetings, optimizing time for all parties involved.

In another development, the Chief Minister has convened a high-level meeting with the Managing Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Dan Barnes. The discussion focused on strategic matters of paramount importance to the nation.
The central theme of the engagement was Sierra Leone’s government’s unwavering commitment to foster collaboration with opposition members and stakeholders in the country’s governance process, emphasizing inclusivity.
The meeting was graced by the presence of the United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt, and his delegation, who participated actively in the deliberations.
It is worth noting that the MCC had previously deviated from its original timeline for considering the approval of a compact agreement for the Republic of Sierra Leone, citing concerns related to the outcome of the 2023 general elections.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, September 14, 2023, the MCC reaffirmed its intention to continue engaging with the Government of Sierra Leone, underscoring the enduring partnership between the two entities. However, the statement did not provide a specific timeline for when the compact agreement might be approved.
MCC Compacts represent five-year grant agreements designed to facilitate private sector investment by creating a conducive environment. Eligibility for compact assistance is contingent on meeting specific scorecard indicators established by the MCC. Notably, Sierra Leone has achieved a passing score on 11 out of the 20 indicators on the MCC’s 2023 scorecard, marking the fourth consecutive year of success since the tenure of President Julius Maada Bio began in 2018.
Nevertheless, due to widespread concerns surrounding the credibility of Sierra Leone’s June 2023 elections, the MCC decided to suspend approval of the substantial US$450 million grant program earmarked for the nation. This grant program was intended to be disbursed over a five-year period to bolster various sectors within Sierra Leone.
Following the meeting, Chief Minister Sengeh reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to accelerating inclusive national development efforts for the betterment of the nation.
