According to representatives of Beingmate Company, Sierra Leone is the very first country in Africa to have benefited from such a gesture as they have only been sending in their products only to Asia and Europe.

Manager of Being Mate Baby and Child Company, Frank Wang whiles handing over the donation said their being in Sierra Leone at this time is a blessing which reflects their commitments to babies in the country as they continue to work in providing quality.

Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone Ambassador Wu Peng commended both countries for the long standing relationship between the two countries. He expressed hope that the donation will benefit its targeted beneficiaries such as lactating mothers and children under five.

Ambassador Peng went on that such a support reflects the display of love and support for both countries.

Receiving the donation, First Lady Sia Nyama Koroma thanked the Government and People of China and the Beingmate Company for such a gesture, she said it will benefit the country particularly children. She expressed happiness over the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Madam Alice Kumba Momoh, Sierra Leone’s Chargé d’Affaires to the People’s Republic of China said both countries have enjoyed decades of strong ties of friendship and bilateral relations and was also proud, that such ties continue to move upwards from one strategic level to another.

Speaking on the donation, Madam Momoh said, the decision by Beingmate Group to donate thousands of powder milk to the country through the First Lady’s Office was “a clear demonstration of the mutual trust and friendship both Sierra Leone and China share.”

It is pivotal, she said, that the donated milk will help in building and nourishing children across the country, emphasizing that the donation was timely, following the recent mudslide. She thanked Mariatu Kargbo for persuading the Beingmate Company to make the donation to Sierra Leone, whilst also thanking the Group.
