Residents of Big and Small Portor villages, Juba, Juba Hill, Lumley and surrounding communities within Constituency 132 in Freetown, past Saturday 23rd October, 2021 came out in their hundreds to celebrate one of their sons of the soil, Ibrahim Pa Brima Bangura fondly called Mr. B.

After years of acute suffering for basic amenities such as pipe borne water supply, proper drainage and bridge systems and community recreational field, in the Portor community and surroundings, Mr. B past Saturday self-financed and commissioned three development projects.

The 3 projects include the construction of a pipe borne water tap, a bridge linking Constituency 132 through Portor to other communities and the face-lifting of a dilapidating community recreational field.

Residents who spoke to AYV newspaper thanked the young philanthropist for his good work in the Constituency.

They made a clarion call for the leadership of the APC party to consider Mr. B for the symbol to represent them in parliament come 2023, hoping that he will be the Constituency’s right representation.

Even before he was denied the APC parliamentary ticket in 2018, residents said Mr. B has continued on the path of development, which is part of the reasons for which he was loved by the people.

They said despite the APC party refused him symbol to represent his people in parliament in 2018, this does not stopped Mr. B from undertaking community development projects with his own money.

This is just one of the numerous reasons for the support he garners from his people and the respect he commands among his peers and the aged within and out of the Constituency.

The young politician once said that whether he is made Member of Parliament or not, he would not rest until his constituency experienced a turnaround in terms of development, and he had since engaged in the move.

He said he was being motivated by the drive of former President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma to transform Sierra Leone, adding that he would not only be performing his normal duties of a community man, but would also continue on the path of his development programmes in the constituency regardless of beneficiaries political affiliations (SLPP, APC, NGC, DPD, NGC or any other).

Since he started his philanthropist work, Mr. B has undertaking development projects in numerous communities within the Constituency, including Sections in Kaningo, Lumley, Juba, Portor (Big and Small) and Regent Road among others and these projects include but not limited to ‘establishing a pre, primary, JSS and SSS school at Juba Hill, addressing water crisis by building water wells and erecting taps, giving scholarship to pupils and students, among goodies.

He had also intervene in addressing hygiene problems in the Constituency by supporting toilet facility projects in different communities, supporting traders and development works at the Lumley and Regent Road Markets, supporting schools and pupils within the community with furniture and learning materials and supporting the construction of bridge in Portor, Juba and Kaningo among other areas.

Mr. B has also provided psychosocial support for flood and fire victims in Constituency 132 and according to him, he believes in the power of development, hygiene, education and a prospecting and empowered community.
