Councillors of Freetown have voted and unanimously elected Councillor Zainab Conteh to preside over council meetings as well as approve requests meant to facilitate the daily operations of Council in the absence of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Municipality.
The Resolution is pursuant to the Council’s Standing Orders 45 (SO 45).
Prior to taking up the new office, Councillor Zainab Conteh serves as Chairman of the Council Appointment Advisory, Foreign and Protocol Committee, member of Sanitation Committee and member of the Municipal Trade Committee.
Her Worship, Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr is out of the country on international assignment while Deputy Mayor, Kweku Lisk will also be out of the country for a couple of days.
Councillor Zainab Conteh has been hailed by both her colleague councillors and Council staff as a very hardworking and resourceful woman.
