All People’s Congress (APC) Party’s 2023 elections Presidential Candidate, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara has visited the pro-democracy think tank, the Carter Center and made a presentation on the importance of Carter Center Observer Missions for general elections in Africa.

Based in Atlanta Georgia, the Carter Center helps to improve lives by resolving conflicts; advancing democracy around the world.

The APC-USA Branch said: “Dr Samura Kamara’s visit to the Carter Center is part of his strategic engagements to share his vision and his resolve to lead Sierra Leone on sound democratic principles.

While in the United States, Dr. Samura Kamara met with Sierra Leoneans in the Diaspora in a town hall meeting in Maryland. He assured them of a thriving socio-economic political environment under his leadership.”

The Branch said Dr. Samura Kamara further engaged with Sierra Leoneans in the States, telling them how his emergence as President of Sierra Leone would help in solving the problems that have bedeviled the country’s economic development.

“At the town hall meeting, Dr. Samura Kamara presented his vision for Sierra Leone to country men and women living in the States. He told his audience that politics should transcend partisanship and be devoid of tribal and religious attachments”.

Dr. Samura Kamara said: “As President of Sierra Leone, my top priority would remain the nation’s security and unity because, without security, no one can accomplish anything. Without peace among the populace, there can be no significant advancement.

“I have seen youths who were of productive age misusing their skills due to a lack of interest and direction. My campaign team and I have observed an apparent unanimity of abandonment resulting from governmental failure across the country. I saw poverty everywhere, but I also saw untapped talent, improperly used energy, vast arable land and nation’s future diamonds and other minerals. I am thrilled by what I saw across the country in the people’s zeal for something different; people who are suffering but are hopeful about tomorrow”.
