There have been allegations of abuse of power and corruption in the Ministry. Both ministers have not been pals since their appointment. The two had a long standing feud over the issue of Female Genital Mutilation. This is not the first time ministers in that ministry have been fired under the Leadership of President Ernest Bai Koroma. Their Predecessors were also fired almost two years ago.

Appointment is yet to be made, but information reaching this writer says the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Isata Kabia is the replacement of Dr. Blyden.
