The East End Lions Under-17 side, one of the junior categories of Sierra Leone’s top-tier football club, has commenced their bid for the Mohamed Kallon U-17 Youth Football Tournament 2023 impressively, registering a 2-1 turnaround victory against Hereford SL.

Sunday’s encounter at the Mohamed Kallon Field in Angola Town was thrilling, with Moses Bangura giving Hereford SL an earlier lead in the 1-minute of the match proceedings and it was maintained throughout the first half.

However, the second half produced a different ambience, the East End Lions Under-17 side scored two goals within three minutes. Gibrilla Koroma levelled terms for his side 1-1 after he converted a goal from the spot-kick.

Midfielder Abu Bakarr Fornah’s 59th minute strike sealed all three points for the East End Lions Under-17 side, while, he also won the Man of the Match award.

Meanwhile, the next match of the East End Lions Under-17 side in the youth football tournament organised by Sierra Leone’s football icon Mohamed Kallon will be played on Sunday, November 12, 2023, against K.K Academy.
