Following her exceptional role in the 2023 general elections, the Executive of the Eastern Region Women’s Network has congratulated Her Excellency First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio for her outstanding role during the 2023 general election that saw the re-election of President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

Expressing her appreciation, the Spokesperson of the Network Mrs. Isata Jabbie Kabba expressed her thanks and appreciation to the First Lady for standing by her husband and the SLPP during the June 2023 general elections.

She noted that the role the First Lady played will not be forgotten in a hurry as it contributed immensely towards the winning of the June 24 General Elections. Madam Kabba explained that Eastern Region Women’s Network was established to seek the welfare and wellbeing of women and girls in Kenema, Kailahun and Kono district.

She encouraged the First Lady to be part of the network owing for the fact that she hails from Kono.

The President of the Network, Ms. Battu Jambawai encouraged the First Lady to continue doing what she does best as they are proud of her outstanding role as the First Lady of Sierra Leone and prayed that God continues to bless her and her husband.

“Our women in the region are blessed with knowledge and skills, and its high time we showcase them to the country and tell the world that women in the Eastern Region are ready to take the lead” she said.

Ms. Jambawai revealed that they are in the process of constructing an Early Childhood Center in Koidu Town, Kono District, to help build the foundation of children within the district.  She hinted that they had secured the land in Koidu, but they are challenged with the required funds to construct the facility.

“We will be hosting a fundraising dinner soon and the proceeds will be used for the construction of the facility in Kono” she said.

Her Excellency, the First Lady Dr. Fatima Bio assured the network that she is willing and ready to be part of them. (https://takes2fitness.com/)
