A team from the European Union Election Observers Mission in Sierra Leone headed by the Chief Observer, Evin Incir has met with the Human Rights Commission for Sierra Leone (HRC-SL) ahead of the June 24 elections.

The meeting geared towards mapping out the preparedness and role of the commission in the upcoming election. The human right commission has also shared their elections strategy and findings on its pre-elections monitoring and, in the findings, they also made mentioned of the recent emergence of hate speech and incitement could undermine peaceful election.

EUEOM Chief Observer, Evin Incir and the chairperson for the HRCSL, Patricia Narsu Ndanema also discussed and shared the views on the conduct of the campaign and the overall respect for fundamental rights and freedom in the run-up to the election on June 24th.

The Chief Observer also met with the chief electoral commissioner, Mohamed Kenewui Konneh to also understanding their preparedness and things put in place for the election.
