Speaking to AYV they said the temporary shelters they were staying had been shut down and most of them are being taken care of by their relatives and neighbors.

Like many other survivors, these women had no choice but to live in a place where experts had long warned that deforestation and rampant construction could bring disaster and many fear it could happen again as heavy rains become more severe this year due to climate change.

“As you can see the population we have here, we all know what happened here in 2017 and we are seriously panicking here” they told AYV.

They disclosed that, the hills crack whenever it rains and that they are only staying at the place because they have no other place to go.

As things stand now the environment is no longer safe for the residents and it will be better for the government to proffer solution to avert an occurrence of what happened 2 years ago.

Theresa John one of the female survivors said the force of the flood during the rains is uncontrollable and that she is afraid to go out to do her business during the rains, adding that she has four children to take care of.

“We are calling on the government for a convenient place where we can stay with our kids” the affected women pleaded.
