Mr. Fofana expressed enthusiasm about joining the AYV, outlining plans to strengthen AYV’s television identity, expand its digital footprint, and revitalise its radio services.
He further disclosed intentions to focus on people-centred storytelling and to actively engage audiences through on-screen appearances and a nationwide roadshow expected to cover various parts of the country, including Falaba district and Karene district, both of which are marking a decade since their establishment.
In his new role, Mr. Fofana will oversee the day-to-day operations of the media institution, with a mandate to drive strategic growth, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the company’s competitive position within Sierra Leone’s media landscape.

His background in international journalism and media leadership is widely regarded as a significant asset to AYV’s transformation agenda.
The appointment is seen as a strategic move to reposition AYV for sustained growth and reinforce its role as a leading independent media institution in Sierra Leone.
