During his visit, the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs will hold a meeting with his host counterpart, Hon. Dr. Alie Kabba at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to be followed by a press conference at the Ministry’s Conference Hall, on Tower Hill, Freetown, at 10am on Monday 25th February, 2019.

Three (3) German Members of Parliament will meet with the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Abass Bundu, Deputy Speaker, Hon. Sengehpoh Solomon Thomas, Parliamentary Majority Leader, Hon. Chernor Bah and Leader of Government Business, Hon. Sidi Mohamed Tunis.

The German Foreign Minister and delegation will meet His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Brigadier Julius Maada Bio at State House.

The delegation will then depart from State House for the Freetown City Council for a meeting with the Mayor of Freetown, Her Worship Yvonne Aki-Sawyer.

The German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will also meet with the country’s Civil Society organizations and then depart for a conducted tour at the Public Health National Emergency Operations Centre at Wilkinson Road where they will hold a meeting with the Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Alpha T. Wurrie and the EU Ambassador, Tom Vens.

The German Federal Foreign Minister will also meet the Chair of the Sierra Leone National Chapter of the African Women Leadership Network, Dr. Bernadette Lahai.
