Sierra Leone’s Minister of Works and Public Assets, Dr. Denis Sandy, is set to depart Sierra Leone to lead a high-level delegation to Namibia.
The expedition, sponsored by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), aims to acquire valuable insights into road maintenance and sustainable development practices.
Accompanying Dr. Sandy are key figures, including the CEO of the Road Maintenance Fund Administration (RMFA), the Director General of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA), and representatives from the Public-Private Partnership Unit and the Office of the Vice President. The delegation is expected to return to Freetown on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
Namibia, renowned for its efficient road infrastructure and development initiatives, serves as the focal point for this fact-finding mission. The delegation will engage in discussions with Namibian officials, tour various road maintenance projects, and actively participate in workshops and meetings to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences.
This mission holds great significance for Sierra Leone, offering a unique opportunity to enhance its road maintenance and sustainable development strategies. The knowledge gained during the trip is anticipated to contribute significantly to the improvement of the country’s infrastructure and foster economic growth.
