The atmosphere was colorfully painted with smiles of appreciation from administrators as well as pupils from both schools. Parents gleefully consented to join Mr. Alimamy Sultan Turay in offering abundant offerings and prayers to the Almighty for a win for him in this most enviable competition; which according to them, is a mix of being handsome and extremely intelligent.
The youth Chairman (ask Sultan 4 name), expressed his profound appreciation over Mr Alimamy Sultan Turay’s developmental orientation which according to the Chairman was a “Heaven’s Sent deposition”. The Youth Chairman assured citizens of Gbom Samba, that if only they join forces to pray for Mr. Sultan’s victory, a new dawn will be inevitable in every nook and cranny of Gbom Samba. “He hasn’t won the contest and done such an immense effort to boost education which will in no small way develop our town. I imagine how excellent his contributions will be once he wins. Therefore we must pray and offer sufficient offerings to Allah for his grace over our son, brother, nephew and uncle- Mr. Alimamy Sultan Turay.” Youth Chairman lamented.
The Vice Principal Mr. Kargbo said he had never being doubtful over Mr. Alimamy Sultan Turay’s ability. “Since he was a child he has being very generous to friends. I taught him at the primary school. At times I have to beat him to keep his lunch away from friends” he said.
The entire township was tainted with a ray of hope and enveloped with broad smiles which every school pupil of both the primary and secondary school benefited from. Pupils complemented Mr. Alimamy Sultan Turay’s magnanimity with what seemed and endless recitations from the Holy Quran. Responses with AMEEN came from everybody in attendance.
Mr. Alimamy Sultan Turay confessed how happy and grateful he was for being given such a rich reception. “If I ever doubted that Gbom Samba is my place of birth, today that doubt has being effaced today; for such a reception can only be given to sons and daughters of this soil.” He further lamented. He promised, he will continue to use his talent to raise fund for development for Gbom Samba.”My parents offered their hands in agriculture so our township can have food, I promise you all here today that I will continue to use my innate talent to bring honor and greatness to our land” Mr. Alimamy Sultan Turay ventured. To affirm his promise, he gave Mariama Kargbo a class one pupil the sum of two hundred thousand Leones as scholarship for her next academic year’s school charges.
Everyone was extremely delighted, thus the program was climaxed with an elaborate singing and dancing session by all and sundry.
