It could be recalled that the NGC nominated five hundred and four candidates out of five hundred and eleven council seats in the country and this has been widely termed as a huge success for a less than six-month old political party in the country

A former parliamentary symbol aspirant in Constituency 094, Moyamba district, Emmanuel Tom Kenah said despite he was not awarded the party’s symbol to contest the election, yet he is satisfied with the level of transparency and organization displayed by the Committee headed by Hon. Kuyembeh.

He said while the leadership of other political parties in the country selected candidates without the approval of their party’s constituency structures, he said the NGC Symbol Awarding Committee visited the constituencies on countless occasions surveying to identify who are the people’s choice.

He said this is the secret behind the party’s nominating candidates from every district in the country, unlike other political parties that were incapable.

He said in constituencies where the party’s membership is large, the Committee conducted transparent elections.

“The party was very thorough in it screening process to a point some of us that were unable to get symbol do not have any reason to grumble” he said, adding that the NGC in its symbol awarding process proved to be the real change agents in Sierra Leone, hoping that other political parties including the two traditional parties will emulate the NGC in the next elections.
