Honorable Paran Tarawally has officially resumed duty as Clerk of Sierra Leone Parliament following the end of his suspension.

According to reliable sources, Tarawally’s period of suspension and administrative discipline has concluded, and he has officially returned to his role. Hon. Tarawally had been placed under suspension due to allegations concerning the employment of his wife within the Parliament. The controversy centered on claims that he was involved in the employment process.

However, recent investigations by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has cleared him of any wrongdoing.

The ACC’s findings revealed that Hon. Tarawally was not aware of his wife’s employment within the Parliament. The Commission conducted a thorough investigation but found no documentation linking him to the hiring process. Consequently, the allegations against him were dismissed, and his suspension was lifted.

Despite the exoneration of Hon. Tarawally, the ACC has instructed his wife to refund all salaries received during her employment, along with applicable interest. This decision underscores the Commission’s commitment to upholding ethical standards and accountability within public institutions.

As Hon. Tarawally returned to his position after a smooth transition back to regular operations under his stewardship. His return marks the resolution of a challenging period for both him and the institution, reaffirming his commitment to his duties and responsibilities.

With the end of his suspension, Hon. Tarawally’s focus will now shift back to his role as Clerk of Parliament, where he has resumed overseeing parliamentary affairs and contributing to the legislative process. His reinstatement is expected to bring renewed stability and leadership to the Parliament.
