The ongoing rehabilitation/reconstruction of the 24-bedroom hotel and 6 classrooms of the Hotel and Tourism Training College (HTTC) at Milton Margai Technical University (MMTU) Brookfields campus is at its final stages.

The Site Engineer for the Contractors, Musa Jimmy assured that the project will be commissioned within two months.

The rehabilitation/reconstruction of the edifice falls under the implementation of the Sustainable Tourism Development and Promotion Programme (STDPP) financed by the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) Trust Fund and implemented by the National Tourist Board (NTB).

Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Memunatu Pratt turned the sod in commencement of the rehabilitation in May, 2021.

The EIF’s Deputy Executive Director, Annette Ssemuwemba and the Coordinator, Peter Donelan spot checked the rehabilitation of the hotel and classrooms where they expressed satisfaction at the level and quality of work done and commended the Tourist Board for ensuring that the project meets its desired expectations.

The 24-bedroom hotel, kitchen, prep/service room and 6 class rooms of HTTC when completed will ease the demand for technical tertiary training college on hospitality management.
