She called for close collaboration with the judiciary in implementing the Commission’s recommendation in the areas of delay trials, denial of bail applications and stringent bail conditions for minor offences, irregular court sittings in the regions, juvenile justice, local courts and the general challenges of the judiciary.

In his response, Chief Justice Abdulai Cham assured HRCSL of the Judiciary’s close collaboration because he believed their work was complementary in ensuring that justice prevails in the country.

The Chief Justice informed the Commission of the bail and sentencing guidelines which he said was a two-year project that will set out practice direction on the issue of bail.

Justice Emmanuel Ekundayo Roberts lauded the efforts of the Commission which he said is complementary to the work of the judiciary and that the issue of juvenile justice is very important to the judiciary. Justice Vivian Solomon was also present during the courtesy call.
