Presenting his Declaration of Intent, JFK, as he is fondly called, disclosed that his intention was borne out of his strong desire and willingness to build on and promote what he described as ‘the illustrious legacies and ideals’ of the party.

Receiving the letter from Mr. Kamara, the APC National Secretary General, Ambassador Foday Yansaneh said he is impressed with the spirit of the supporters of JFK and that so many aspirants have come out to inform him of their intent verbally, not in the manner as JFK has done.

He reiterated that the party has 18 intending contestants, and with what he described as ‘the wise decision of the able-bodied President and the National Advisory Council’ will choose a trust-worthy and responsible candidate as the party’s Flag-bearer in the forthcoming elections.

He informed all that the President recently called all aspirants to a meeting where he advised them to work with whoever the party chooses hand-in-hand, to ensure that the country and the party remain peaceful.

Flag-bearer aspirant Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara described the moment as a unique opportunity for the party to transform the nation if he ends up being chosen as and subsequently elected as President of Sierra Leone.

JFK has served as Deputy Prosecutor of the Special Court of Sierra Leone, Commissioner at the Anti-Corruption Commission before his appointment as Attorney General and Minister of justice.

He expressed gratitude to President Koroma for according him the opportunity to serve his cabinet, and assured him that if given the opportunity to be the party’s flag-bearer, he will never disappoint him, the party and the nation.
