Minister of Communication and Innovation, Salima Bah has disclosed plans to incorporate innovative strategies across all government departments.

She underscored the ministry’s commitment to employing innovative strategies across various government departments, citing the Health Ministry as an example. These strategies aimed to improve service delivery and enhance overall governance.

Bah also shed light on her ministry’s pivotal role in advancing the President Bio’s vision for innovation and communication.

She said the installation of the Ministry of Communication and Innovation was a direct result of the President’s commitment to fostering progress in these critical areas. She clarified that her ministry’s functions were not entirely new, as they had previously been sheltered within the Information Ministry, which included the Directorate of Science and Technology and the Communication Ministry. However, they had now been separated to enhance efficiency and focus.

Minister Bah embellished her ministry’s key responsibilities, accentuating its role in formulating policy and overseeing the Directorate of Science and Technology and the National Communication Authority (NATCA).

She proudly shared some success stories, particularly from the Directorate of Science and Technology and its achievements in developing result checker systems for students in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASCE). These innovations streamlined educational processes.

The Communication Minister concluded by outlining an ambitious plan for her ministry, aligning it with the President’s ‘Big Five’ agenda.
