Speaking to this medium the Executive Director for Mirror Africa Simeonette Pontis said the documentary captures the life story of twenty eminent women in the country, including Her Worship the Mayor of Freetown Yvonne Aki Sowyer, the Auditor General Lara Taylor-Pearce and One of the Country’s top broadcasters Asma James.
She said the interviews in the documentary will be showed on different television stations, social media platforms , schools and communities in the country.
She said her organisation choice to embark on this campaign because they found out that young women are missing out to teenage pregnancy, poverty, harassment, neglect and many more constraints affecting their confidence and self-esteem.
She said for this reason the girls need that inspiration to rise above the mistakes they made or the challenges they go through in life.
She said they want the ladies to believe that they can be more successful than the women of the higher echelon they admire.
She said in the inspire her documentary women explain the ordeals they went through in life, and how they utilized the limited opportunities they had and got to the positions of trust they occupy in their respective societies.
