FC Kallon which is a top-flight football club in Sierra Leone is exactly twenty years old when the football icon Mohamed Kallon acquired the club from Sierra Fisheries in 2002 and has disclosed plans to restructure and transform FC Kallon into a professional club in Africa. The “Cavaliers” as nicknamed won both the Sierra Leone Premier League in 2006 and the FA Cup in 2007 less than a decade after its establishment presently in intense preparations ahead of their return to continental football for the first time since their last appearance in 2012 has been drawn with Baffles of Benin in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round. Both the male senior category and FC Kallon Female are part of the top-tier leagues in the country, and it has further structures including the division one side, youth categories, a secretariat, a football ground, a sales shop and in 2021 it was ranked 24th on the African continent with the highest number of outgoing transfers for the last decade. Founder and Owner Mohamed Kallon has however revealed the first plan to transform FC Kallon from an amateur into a professional football club by creating a VIP WhatsApp group where ideas will be discussed and in a recent video continue to call on fans to purchase the supporter’s items including orders outside Sierra Leone through the online shop to help the club achieve its target destination.
