The support according to the Chief Executive Officer of Melqosh, Pastor Faith Okrafor Smart is to alleviate the marginalization and challenges faced by amputees across the country.

Speaking to AYV, Pastor Okrafor Smart extended appreciation to Cultivating Women of Worth for giving three hundred hygiene packs to amputee girls and children of amputees especially girls.

Cultivating Women of Worth is an organization made up of twelve women living in the Diaspora united to support underprivileged children and women in Sierra Leone.

The president of the organization, Daphne Williams said the organization was formed on the realization that many girls do not attend school during menstruation because of menstrual pain and lack of sanitary pads. This inspired them to bring three hundred hygiene kits which entail towels, sanitary pads, comb, tooth brush and other items worth over four thousand dollars.

The organization she said believes in giving support to women and girls as part of their aims and objectives especially towards education.

Distributing the kits, Cultivating Women of Worth together with the Organization of Sierra Leone Health Professionals Abroad sensitized the girls about menstrual cycle, teenage pregnancy and health tips.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the hygiene kits, stating that the kits came at the right time especially now when schools have reopened.
