In view of the present situation, the Management of NCD is calling on all and sundry to see that the purpose of justice is served in our beloved nation on the backdrop of a democracy that makes room for the opposition to operate freely within the ambit of the law for without the rule of law, democracy becomes a political platform without foundation.

In this regard, Sierra Leone would have further consolidated its fragile democratic environment if the rule of law and due processes are duly adhered to.

It is therefore politically prudent for a level playing field characterized by political space to be accessible by all political stakeholders without any discrimination that will tend to point at the direction that the political environment is being interfered with. This will include such stakeholders as law enforcement institutions, political aspirants, political parties, party supporters and the general public.  All should follow the procedural consensus on elections that each voice must be heard anchored on the respect for the rule of law and promoting peaceful, transparent and credible elections before and during the election process.

Sierra Leone must crave to consolidate its democracy because it will become a catalyst that will ensure its socio-economic development which remains crucial for the state of Sierra Leone.

Democratic consolidation through structured and institutional political parties promoting among other things, internal democracy characterized by respect for legitimacy, fairness, effectiveness and strengthening checks and balances; promoting civic culture/responsibility; strengthening political institutions through adequate funding, etc.

As we prepare for the 2018 elections, the Government and People of Sierra Leone must ensure that the political environment is such that democratic good governance is demonstrated in reality where the stakeholders will all manifest their equal rights within the limits of the law and civic responsibility to preserve the state of Sierra Leone.

Therefore, the Management of NCD is calling on all to serve the purpose of justice, ensure fair play and meet the ideals of democracy with the strong courage to make room for dissenting voices.

Long Live Democracy!

Long Live Justice and Fair Play!

Long Live the Land that we Love, Our Sierra Leone!
