In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Appointment and Public Service Committee, Hon Mohamed Sidi Tunis, who doubles as Leader of the Ruling Party as well as Government Business in Parliament said they have had enough information about the Nominees.

He informed those present that the interview was not a witch hunt, but a way of scrutinizing their competence and qualifications.

The presidential appointees were interviewed on their track records, educational background, vision for designated offices, working in the interest of the state amongst others.

Reports are that information gathered around résumés of the nominated candidates indicates that most of them were over qualified for the designated offices.

Responding to questions, Mohamed M. Massaquoi said he will work diligently with integrity and commitment. He assured the Committee that with his wealth of experience and professionalism the country will gain so much from his expertise.

For Timothy Musa Kabbah, the committee became amazed over his over qualification.

The Appointment Committee is expected to write its report on the interviews and makes it recommendations to the whole House.
