Members of the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone have expressed thanks to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu and His Deputy Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas for the acceptance speech delivered in Parliament on their re-elections, saying Speaker Hon. Dr.  Bundu is a “man of integrity”.

In his submission, the Chief Whip of Parliament, Hon. Dickson Rogers congratulated the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker and acknowledged the tremendous strides and experiences performed by the Speaker of Parliament.

The MP promised to work with them in actualizing the dream of President Bio.

Deputy Chief Whip 1, Hon. Veronica Kadie Sesay thanked the Speaker of Parliament for supporting women’s empowerment and went on to recall the role played by the Speaker in the passage of the Gender Bill into law. “Thank you, Mr. Speaker, for showing that fatherly love in supporting gender mainstreaming”, she maintained.

Hon. Neneh Labbie appreciated the work of the Speaker during the Fifth Parliament and his excellent work on the passage of the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Bill.

Hon. Shiaka Musa Sama said the Speaker has demonstrated a lot of wisdom in executing his responsibility on time.

Hon. Hindolo M. Gevao referred to the Speaker as a “man of integrity” who is admired by people around the world. He commended the Speaker for his wisdom in handling the Fifth Parliament and commended his leadership quality.

Deputy Leader of Government Business 2, Hon. Saa Emerson Lamina congratulated the Speaker of Parliament on behalf of the people of Kono on his re-election as the Speaker of the Sixth Parliament and went on to underscore the achievements of the Fifth Parliament under the Leadership of the latter’s purview.

He commended the Speaker for delivering quality service to the nation. He used the opportunity to implore the Speaker to see the need to pass bills relating to food self-sufficiency for Sierra Leoneans.

Hon. Emilian Lolloh Tongai referred to the Speaker of Parliament as a “living encyclopedia”, and went further to applaud the Speaker and His Excellency for promoting women’s empowerment.

Hon. PC Bintu Meama Kajue Koroma assured the Speaker of Parliament that they as Paramount Chiefs would work in line with the new mandate of the Sixth Parliament. “We will always give you our support and work with the Leadership of Parliament”, She Reaffirmed.

Hon. P.C. Foray Gonbor said P.C. MPs would give the Sixth Parliament their richest support and also acknowledged the work of the Speaker in the development of the country.

Hon. Margret Johnson commended the Speaker of Parliament and assured that they as new MPs would work in line with the objectives of Parliament.

Hon. Gabriella Sow Moijue in her felicitation said the Speaker is a mentor to many and went on to appreciate his work.

Hon. Abdul Karim Bangura commended the Speaker for his re-election and acknowledge his role in the development of Sierra Leone.

Hon. Wuyata Songa appreciated both the Speaker and his Deputy for serving the Parliament so well. The Honourable Member spoke so well on the wisdom and quality of the Speaker of Parliament.

Hon. Rebecca Y. Kamara applauded the wisdom of both Speakers and referred to the quality of Dr. Bundu as a development-oriented person and went on to praise his leadership quality for supporting the Gender Bill.

Hon. Joseph Williams- Lamin said the values of the Speaker of Parliament are admirable to all and went on to admonish MPs to serve in the interest of the State.

Hon. Keikura Vandy articulated thanks and appreciation to President Bio for providing the platform for Members of Parliament to perform their constitutional mandate. He went on to speak well of the total achievements of the Fifth Parliament under the purview of the Speaker.

Hon. Mariama Zombo expressed happiness over the passage of the Gender Bill which allows women to participate in politics. The female MP applauded the Speaker and advised him to place Female MPs into committees on merit.

Hon. Abu Kemokai thanked both the Speaker and his Deputy for their re-elections in the Sixth Parliament.

Hon. Alice K. Sandy expressed thanks to the Speaker and the Leadership of Parliament for supporting the enactment of the Gender Bill into law.

Hon. PC Brima Victor Kebbie from Pujehun District applauded the work of the Speaker of Parliament and promised to work with him in the curiosity of the country.

Hon. Amie N. Moriba expressed appreciation for the passage of the Gender Bill which is promoting the participation of additional women in politics.

Hon. Rugiatu Mustapha said she is in Parliament to give back to the people of Sierra Leone and went on to express her sincere gratitude to the people of Sierra Leone.

Hon. Beatrice Kangbai recalled some of her experience of visiting the previous Parliament and commended the Speaker. She thanked President Bio for his support to women in the current Leadership of the State, especially for their 30% quota in governance.

She reiterated that women’s presence in the active workforce would ameliorate poverty. She assured the Speaker of their contributions to Parliamentary service.

Hon. Brima Mansaray from Kenema said he did not doubt the mind of the Speaker, considering his handling of the 5th Parliament. He recalled several skills of the Speaker’s performance and reaffirmed that the latter would do more in the office.

Hon. Rachael Mariatu Sesay Pessima from Port Loko thanked the Speaker and acknowledged that the Speaker is highly knowledgeable. She assured Parliament that, they would deliver Quality service and that her SLPP would gain more support in Port Loko.

Hon. Alpha Fode Madie Jabbie from Falaba congratulated the Speaker and the entire Members of Parliament. He referred to the Leadership experience demonstrated by the Speaker in the last Parliament.

Hon. Bintu Fatmata Bockarie from Bonthe while thanking the Speaker assured that they would deliver for the people. She pleaded to the Leadership to consider the Female Members of Parliament, in light of opportunities. She also thanked the President.

Hon. Ibrahim Kabba from Western Rural said they as Members of Parliament should uphold the dignity of the House and must deliver. He expressed hope that the current Parliament would deliver more than the 5th Parliament

Hon. Ibrahim Koroma from Kenema District said they are in Parliament to learn and also requested for the acceptance speech of the Speaker, to use it as a learning tool.

Hon. Ing. Fallah Tengbeh thanked President for giving them such a learned Speaker. He expressed interest in teamwork.

Hon. Fatmata S. Soukenah asked for the Speaker’s guidance and support for Female MPs.

Hon. Amara Momoh Kargbo expressed his felicitation to the Speaker and reiterated that his speech was very motivational.

Hon. Tamba Simeon Johnny congratulated the Speaker on his re-election and that his acceptance speech is a testament to his great education and experience.
