The notice stated that  lately, some members of the public especially youths  who are neither military personnel nor police officers are in the habit of using military wears  and police uniform to cause night havoc and disturb the peace and tranquility  of the country’s peaceful citizens.

According to the public release, such act is an offense under the laws of Sierra Leone. It further added that any civilian found putting on military wears or police uniform would be promptly arrested and prosecuted.

“Any civilian found putting on military or police uniform would be promptly arrested and prosecuted,” the public notice added.

The notice urged and warned all those that are in the habit of putting on police uniform and military wears at night or in broad day light to desist immediately, because the Sierra Leone police take great exception to that and will ensure that those who are found wanting would be arrested and prosecuted  instantaneously .

The strongly worded notice was signed and issued by the Head of Media and Public Relations of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Assistant Superintendent Gloria Edwards (ASP).
