The president and cross section of members of the Sierra Leone Police Wives Association (SLPWA), yesterday 13th October, 2022 visited the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Li Xiaoyong at the Chinese Embassy in Freetown.

Upon taking up office as President of the Association,

Mrs. Matilda Doris Sellu said the visit is to familiarise and introduce herself and her members to the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy.

Madam Sellu during her engagement briefly stated some key constraints reported by Police Wives ranging from poor medical facilities; inadequate toilet facilities and water facilities, among others.

She went on to highlight some of her development strides undertaken to address some of the serious constraints faced in Police Barracks, such as the proposed construction of modern toilet facilities at Kingtom Police Barracks; and the sum of Fifty-Two Thousand New Leones raised out of proceeds from the hall at Kingtom Police Barracks.

She, therefore commended the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy and wished him well in his new role.

Welcoming the women, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Li Xiaoyong thanked the Association for visiting him.

He encouraged the women to be steadfast, noting that the Police Wives Association is a very instrumental and important entity that equally contributes to peace and national security.
