PPRC calls on APC to temporary put on hold District Executive Elections …until matters are resolved

The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has called on the Transitional Interim Independent Elections Management Committee (TIIEMC) to put on hold the APC District Executive Elections until all elections’ petitions are heard and determined.

According to the PPRC, they have received several Petitions, from almost all of the sixteen electoral districts in the country, save for Bombali, Moyamba and Kailahun so far, relative to the conduct and outcome of the All People’s Congress (APC) Party Constituency Executive elections.

The PPRC also informed all Petitioners, the Chairman and Secretary of the Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC), and the Chairman and District Focal Persons of the TIIEMC that, the Petitions will be heard today Friday 20th January 2023, at the Conference room of the Commission at Tower Hill Freetown, at 10 am and are accordingly invited.

The Commission also said that apart from the Petitioners and the Party Officials mentioned above, it will not allow any other person at the hearings and that all who are not Chairman and Secretary of the ITGC, Chairman and District focal persons of the TIIEMC, and the Chairman of the Subcommittee of the ITGC on Registration are advised to stay off the Commission’s Conference room.
