The President of Hungary, Her Excellency Katalin Novák has congratulated His Excellency President Bio on his re-election as President of Sierra Leone.

President Novák said: “Dear Mr. President! Allow me to express my heartfelt congratulations on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. I would also like to express my appreciation for the recent progress in cooperation between Hungary and the Republic of Sierra Leone.

“Let me assure you that I am committed to further deepen the cordial relations between our countries, both bilateral and multilateral. In this spirit, allow me to confirm my invitation for an official visit to Hungary. At the same time, it would be a great honour for me if you could attend and give a welcome speech on the occasion of the 5th Budapest Demographic Summit.

“I avail myself of this opportunity to wish Your Excellency the best of health and continued success in discharging your highly responsible duties.”

Presidential Spokesman in the Government of Sierra Leone, Hon. Alhaji Alpha Kanu said: “This is a big step in the right direction for the government of President Julius Maada Bio”.

He said President Novak is a full member of the European Union and NATO for the past two decades and that Hungary is one of the key political players in the European Union that influence the EU foreign policies.
