Mr. Sillah recalled that when they in Pujehun heard the announcement of their brother as the country’s second gentleman, the stakeholders of the district summoned an emergency meeting to endorse His Excellency, adding that after the meeting he was sent by his people to convey a ‘thank you’ message to His Excellency, the President for appointing a man of their people as his principal assistant.

He warned his fellow kinsmen to support the Hon. Vice President to work in unity and respect with his boss, His Excellency to achieve the goals of the Agenda For Prosperity; and called on the Vice President to be cautious with those rallying around not to mislead and misguide him in the dispensation of his state functions.

Addressing the bike riders, Chairman Sadiq said that President Koroma has assisted them by doling out about 233 licenses. He warned that those licenses were body licenses and not for their bikes, adding that their bikes should be licensed. 

He called on the bike riders in particular and all indigenes of Pujehun to work in accordance with the governance structure of the country and not to undermine it, noting  that the outbreak of the lethal Ebola scourge did not dismantle the governance structure of the country as the country has a President.

He cautioned defaulters who are using political influence when found wanting to discontinue from such and that politicians too should allow the security forces to execute their functions without interference.

Addressing the development strides of the APC government in their district, Chairman Sadiq encouraged the people of Pujehun district to be patience and appreciate the efforts of the ruling government as the roads are presently under construction, furthering that Rome was not built in a day.

Giving the purpose of the gathering at the Pujehun Court Barray in Pujehun town, the Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Alhaji Moijueh Kaikai said that His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma believes in national development and that His Excellency is more concern about the wellbeing of the youths of this country. With that in the mind of the President, the Minister said after he was given a list of about 233 names of bike riders in the Pujehun district for licenses, he said that he took the list to His Excellency who was very excited to contribute immensely for the production of the licenses.

He said His Excellency would have loved to be at the presentation ceremony but was engaged with other state functions and hence assigned his Principal Assistant, Vice President Dr. Foh to present the licenses on his behalf with message affection.

He further outlined some of the on-going road constructions in the district by the ruling government.

In his keynote address, Vice President Dr. Foh commended the people for giving him such a home welcome and for endorsing his appointment as Vice President of the nation.

He said the Vice President position given to him through His Excellency belongs to the people of this nation and that he is ready to humble himself to the First Gentleman of the country, carry out his given assignments in a respectable and timely manner and will ever remain to support the President in accomplishing his heartfelt goals for the country and its people. He called on the populace to look at him as their servant and not boss.

Vice President Foh said that the presentation of over two hundred (200) licenses to riders from various chiefdoms in the district was an indication that the APC government cares for its youthful population.

He admonished the bike riders to use of their licenses for their intended purposes and that they should respect the police and other authorities in the district. Vice President Dr. Foh encouraged the bikers to observe the traffic rules in order to minimize road accidents and also observe the Ebola rules and regulations of the district.

Meanwhile, Vice President has called on the people of Pujehun district to be united, focus on more important issues and looked at the bigger picture of development in their district.

He called on them to pray for and support their children in all their endeavors in order for them to contribute in the development pace of not only the district but the country as a whole.

VP Foh added that the APC government loves and cares for the people of this country and that His Excellency, President Koroma always has the people of Pujehun and other districts at heart.

He assured the paramount chiefs that the party is not in power to remove them from their chieftaincies, maintaining that all what the party can do was to restore peace, unity, respect and harmony between chiefs and their subjects.

He concluded by reaffirming that the President did not send any individual to propagate a ‘More Time’ message to the people of this nation, as he the President is a true democrat and respects the rule of law.
