According to Rev. Dr. Fornah, the IRC-SL condemns in entirety such activities and that they consider this to be very unfortunate at a time when the country is enjoying relative peace and tolerance in all aspects; added to the harmony, democracy and peaceful co-existence currently enjoyed in the country.

“We have succeeded in peaceful co-existence to a large extent,” Rev. Usman Fornah said, adding that there have been lots of inter-marriages in the country between people from different tribes and religions.

According to Rev. Fornah, people have been saying that the country is divided not on tribal lines but on regional lines and that what is clearly demonstrated in the ongoing electioneering process is that some political parties got majority votes in particular districts which did not go down well with them as religious leaders because it gives the impression that people are not listening to them.
